I have heard that Disney was having occasional soft openings of Spaceship Earth for a few weeks, but every time we arrived, we either just missed it or the attraction was closed for the day. We were very lucky at Mousefest when we saw a line gathering, so we tried once more. Bingo, after only waiting an hour and a half, the doors opened and the crowds eagerly entered.

I love to eat at buffets and when Disney announced that the Tusker House was being changed over from counter-service to a Buffet and the addition of Donald's Safari Breakfast (Which replaced the Donald's Breakfastosaurus character buffet at Dinoland's restaurantosaurus) in the morning, I was chomping at the bit to try the new addition to the Animal Kingdom. This week with reservations in hand, my wife and I arrived about 40mins earlier than expected so I could take a few pictures before we ate.

Since it's opening on April 22, 1998, Disney's Animal Kingdom has offered guests thrilling rides, a safari trek second to none, Broadway-style shows and exotic animals. However, the one thing it did not offer was a fine table-service restaurant. All it had were counter-service. There is the Landry's owned Rainforest Cafe, a fine restaurant at the entrance of the Animal Kingdom, but it was not "In the Park" so to speak. Guests had to go through the turnstiles and get their hand stamped to return to the park. However, on Wednesday the 14 that all changed as the anxiously anticipated "Yak and Yeti" restaurant made it's debut. After many months of construction the eatery opened, but on a quiet note.

French food is considered the most refined and stylish form of cuisine. There are many regions in the country which influence the variety of dishes and the ingredients in them to make French cuisine one of the worlds most popular. Here at the "Chefs de France" one can savor the tastes of French cooking right here at Walt Disney World.
